On Friday 17 October 2025, the 2nd Battalion carried out a complete Drumhead Service in barracks. Drums were positioned as a functional field altar with the Colours brought forward and solemnly laid onto the drums, to support reflection in a way that’s open to everyone, irrespective of religious background or none at all.
The Padre provided a direct and meaningful blessing to the assembled soldiers, emphasising prayers for their well-being, effective leadership, and sustained resolve in all operations.
The Commanding Officer and Regimental Sergeant Major, addressed the battalion, sharing insights on current challenges, recognising collective and individual efforts with thanks, and concluding the event by announcing two promotions awarded to those who’ve proven their reliability and skill.
