The Order of St George Presented to 2nd Battalion Soldiers

The Order of St George was presented to Colour Sergeant Max Mander and Captain Ant Stratton, 2nd Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment whilst deployed on Op CABRIT (P) 18.

Presented by Lieutenant Colonel Nimmons, the Commander of the 3-8 WARHORSE Battlegroup, the award recognises the Warrior Spirit, outstanding leadership and competence of the two Poachers.

Whilst deployed the Poachers have trained US troops in all three of the disciplines that make up the deployed fighting echelon – Light Reconnaissance, Sniping and Anti-Tank Operations.

What is the Order of St George (US Army).

The Order is presented by the US Cavalry and Armor Association. It recognizes the top performers in the U.S. Army’s (and working partners) mounted force (Armor and Cavalry), honouring those who demonstrate outstanding leadership, teamwork, and tactical competence.

The Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance group of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment has been a part 3-8 WARHORSE, who fall under the famous 1st Cavalry Division, for the duration of their tour.
