Background: Having moved from Barnsley to Lutterworth at the age of 12, Declan attended Lutterworth Grammar School. His interests were following football and supported Leicester and Barnsley Football Clubs. When younger he was a great Boy Scouter, he had a passion for motorbikes and loved heavy metal music. He loved family life and would take his younger twin brother swimming and on trips to Theme Parks.

Army Career: Enlisted at Charles Street Leicester and served in Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

Date of Death: 28/12/1965

Circumstances: Died of a serious illness while serving with the Regiment in the UK.

Resting place: St Mary’s Church, Lutterworth
