Supporting Wounded Veterans (SWV) Appeal

Captain (Retd) Henry Simpson (1988 – 1998) has volunteered as a ‘ski buddy’ to help, encourage and support 25 seriously injured veterans during SWVs’ Skihabilitation Week.

Supporting Wounded Veterans helps medically discharged veterans regain their independence after physical and mental injuries. They offer skihabilitation, pain management, mentoring, and employment programmes. Since 2013 they have helped 90% of veterans find meaningful occupations.

The Skihabilitation Week is specifically designed to enable the veterans to regain lost confidence and start to rebuild their fitness and strength. The veterans’ disabilities are increasingly varied and all of them have or are in the process of being medically discharged. They range from combat stress (Post Traumatic Stress) to physical, musculoskeletal, often life-altering injuries.

Many Royal Anglians have been helped by SWV’s work which has changed their lives.

100% of funds go directly to the veterans
