Royal Anglian Soldier Battling Cancer Needs Our Help

Warrant Officer Class Two Andy Ellis served with distinction for 23 years with the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment. During his exemplary career, he deployed on operations globally, completing seven tours of Northern Ireland, as well as deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Throughout his time in the Battalion, Andy was an inspirational soldier and leader to many.

For the past 18 years, Andy has been a vital part of HQ 160th (Welsh) Brigade in Brecon. He initially worked within the Brigade Recruiting Advisory Team before moving on to become the Military Housing Liaison Officer, dedicated to supporting families residing in Service Family Accommodation. Furthermore, Andy plays a major role in the meticulous planning and safe delivery of the prestigious Cambrian Patrol.

In December 2025, Andy was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. This news has had a devastating impact on Andy and his family. Unsurprisingly, Andy is facing this battle with immense strength and positivity. Below, you can find a link to a personal message from Andy sharing his story.

Showing his characteristic resilience, Andy recently completed a grueling 22-mile walk across the Brecon Beacons to raise funds for the charity Military vs Cancer.

While the initial fundraising goal was £200, the incredible support pushed past that target instantly. We now want to raise as much money as possible in the coming weeks to support Andy and his family, and other serving personnel, veterans and their families affected by cancer.
