Background: David was educated at St Faith’s Cambridge, Oundle School and University College London.

Army career: David was Commissioned into The Royal Anglian Regiment in 2002 and served with both the 1st and 2nd Battalions during his Army career. He was a member of the Training Staff at The Infantry Training Centre, Catterick.

He had an engaging personality and was a keen sportsman. A committed soldier, he had a reputation for meticulous attention to detail and for supporting and guiding the men under his Command. He enjoyed the company of other soldiers and was a popular member of the Officer’s Mess.

David was promoted to Captain in July 2005 and served on operational tours of Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Date of death: 11/08/2007

Circumstances: David was seriously wounded at Forwarding Operating Base Inkerman, Sangin Valley, Afghanistan, and shortly afterwards died of his wounds.

Resting place: British and Commonwealth Cemetery and Memorial, Brookwood.
