The 2nd Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment is nicknamed “The Poachers” due to their regimental march, “The Lincolnshire Poacher,” which is derived from the folk song of the same name. This march was originally associated with one of their predecessor regiments, the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment. When the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment amalgamated with other regiments to form the Royal Anglian Regiment in 1964, they became the 2nd Battalion
