Background: Mark attended Challney High School for Boys. His interests were varied and included golf, wood turning, gardening, DIY and Word War 1 model painting. Mark married Sabine on 27 August 1983 at Mile End Church Colchester. They have two children Steven and Michelle. 

Army career: After enlisting in 1978 Mark joined The Junior Leaders Battalion at Shorncliffe Kent. During his career he served four times in Colchester, Minden in Germany and Chelmsford with the Territorial Army in Colchester. Mark served initially with 3 Royal Anglian and joined 1 Royal Anglian when the three Battalions were merged into two.

Date of death: 05/05/1996 

Circumstances: Mark died while training with the Regiment in the United States.
