John ‘Jock’ Duke Royal Anglian Regiment

Obituary for John ‘Jock’ Duke

Jock died, suddenly, at his home in Northwold, on Sunday 28 December 2014, aged 78.

He was a great character, an ever-willing TA soldier wholly exemplifying the description ‘Twice a citizen’, excelling as our Platoon Driver and Chef.

All of 2 (Thetford aka Destroyer/Gangster) Pl, A (Royal Norfolk) Coy, 6 (V) R Anglian, who had the honour and pleasure to know him, mourn his passing.

His funeral was well attended by many former A Coy members.
Commanded by WO2 (Retd) Pat Budds, they formed a Guard of Honour at St Andrew’s Church.

Afterwards, at the Northwold bowls/social club, the A Coy contingent were the last to leave!

Jock is survived by his wife Marina and son Steven.
