Regimental Gathering 2026. 12th September 2026

This year the Regimental Gathering will be held at Cottesmore Barracks, home to the 1st and 2nd Battalions of our Regiment.

This year proves to be a bigger event which will now take place on a Saturday and see the return of the drumhead service and the inclusion of an all ranks event into the evening. There is plenty for the family to do throughout the day and dogs are also welcome! Transport will be provided for certain areas and this can be discussed with your association leads.

This year is also a very poignant year as it marks the 20th Anniversary of Operation Telic 8 and the 40th anniversary of a particularly busy year in Northern Ireland. Both years came at a cost of 5 of our soldiers.

We are extremely keen to get people together to remember our fallen from both years.

Format of the day

0930hrs – Gates open for Veterans and guests
1000hrs – Coffee at the rugby pitch
1100hrs – Rugby match. Poachers vs Bourne RFC
1200hrs – Bars and stalls open
1330hrs – Drumhead service (All encouraged to attend)
1350hrs – Speech by the Colonel of the Regiment
1405hrs – Colonel of the Regiment presentations
1420hrs – March past (Past, present and Cadets)
1700hrs – Flag lowering
1800hrs – Live band starts followed by DJ to 2200hrs – Bars close and dispersal

This year we will have the following activities:

Regimental band A live band and DJ in the evening
Various military themed stands Regimental museum stand
Mini motors Dodgems
Fun house
Large inflatable slide
Sweet stall
60ft inflatable assault course
Bouncy castles
Hook a duck
Dogs are also permitted this year but they must remain on the lead at all times.

Telic 8 Memorial Rugby match

Prior to the Regimental Gathering starting, the Poachers will be playing Bourne RFC in their annual memorial match for Pte Adam Morris and Pte Joseva Lewaicei who were killed in Action during Operation Telic 8 20 years ago.
