Background: Joe was educated at Wymondham High School and played for Silfield United Football Club. He was a member of Wymondham Fire Cadets, where he was promoted to leading Cadet. His other interests were his motorbike, his car and keeping fit.

Army career: During training, Joe won the Best Shot Shield. He successfully completed the Fire Team Commanders Team Course and was awarded Top Student. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan

Date of death: 17/10/2009

Circumstances: Joe died in a road accident while serving with the Regiment in the UK.

Resting place: St Faiths Crematorium, Horsham St Faiths, Norwich.
