A Service at the Regimental Chapel of the Essex Regiment and the Royal Anglian Regiment, Warley to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Bayeux by the 2nd Battalion The Essex Regiment (The Pompadours) on 7th June 1944. On Thursday 6^th June the 2^nd Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment, will exercise their Freedom of the Town of Uppingham in Rutland. The Battalion will march to the Market Place accompanied by vehicles which recently deployed to Poland on Op LINOTYPER where a Drumhead Service will take place to mark the 80^th Anniversary of the start of the D-Day landings. Details of timings will follow, but all veterans and their families are most welcome to attend.
