Operation NEWCOMBE – Mali – 2nd Battalion

Description: The 2nd Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment completed two six-month deployments to Mali as part of Operation NEWCOMBE. The first deployment was in December 2020, and the second was in May 2021.

The UK Task Force in Mali supports the UN’s mission to protect civilians, promote human rights, and encourage security sector reform. The UK Task Force also helps the UN respond to threats from violent extremism and weak governance.
