Belize

Description: 1st Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment in Belize in 1982/3. In 1982, the 1st Battalion, Royal Anglian Regiment was deployed to Belize for a six-month emergency tour. This deployment was part of Britain’s commitment to defending Belize’s territory and sovereignty post-independence. The presence of British troops, including the Royal Anglians, was intended to deter potential threats, particularly from Guatemala.
