Background: Steven was educated at Normanton Grammar School.

He married Joanne on the 19th October 1991 at St Mary’s Church, Ashwell, Herts.

Steven loved music and played the trombone in the school band and orchestra. An all round sportsman, he enjoyed canoeing, athletics, karate, and rugby union. He successfully completed a London Marathon and atteded a Driving Performance Course at Silverstone in 1992.

While at Sandhurst he was a member of the Sovereign’s Platoon for whom he boxed, winning his bout at welterweight.

Date of death: 29/04/1994

Circumstances: Steven was killed by a mine while on duty with the Regiment in Gornji Vakuf, Bosnia.

Resting place: Whitwood Cemetery, Castleford
