5th Battalion

During her visit to Hertford on June 18, 1969, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother inspected the 5th (Volunteer) Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment. This battalion was heavily associated with the local Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment territorial forces, for which she served as Colonel-in-Chief
