Enlisted into The Royal Green Jackets in 1970 as a Rifleman Geoff served with the 2nd Bn in Limavady Northern Ireland for 18 months achieved the rank of L/Cpl before passing RCB.
Commissioned into The Light Infantry in 1973 he served in Minden West Germany, Hong Kong and Tidworth as a Platoon Commander and Mortar Platoon Commander, completing three tours in Northern Ireland. Geoff represented the Army at rugby, athletics, swimming.
He left the Regular Army in 1980 and became employed in the furniture manufacturing industry in Ipswich. In 1981 he joined 5(V) Bn The Royal Anglian Regiment as Mortar Officer before moving to Lincoln and transferring to 7(V) Bn The Royal Anglian Regiment. Commanded East Midlands Universities OTC.
Geoff has served as County Colonel for Lincolnshire since 2001.
