County Colonel: Tim Wilkes

Born and raised in Leicestershire, and educated at Repton, Tim joined 7 R Anglian in Wellingborough as a private soldier before going to Queens Division Depot at Bassingbourne to do basic training.

Attended Sandhurst and was commissioned into 4 (Tiger Company) R Anglian in 1974. Served one tour of Northern Ireland with them before joining 1 R Anglian. ADC to GOC 4 Armd Div for two years, followed by further Northern Ireland tours as well as exercises in Cyprus, Canada and a tour in Belize. Adjutant of 1 R Anglian, organising the Tercentenary Celebrations and accompanied move to Londonderry. Transferred to the reserves in 1985.

On leaving the army became an executive search consultant in the City and currently Chairman of Trustees and Chairman of the Royal Leicestershire Regimental Association.

Married with four grown-up children, loves sailing Dragons, other interests include game shooting and classic Lotus cars.
